We Build Better Humans, Issue #7 - THE SENSE OF THINGS
This issue features: 1. Blueprints to micro-mega-rest || 2. Tools of the Trade: Video lessons to use movement with intention || 3. GoSolo helps entrepreneurs, parents & educators
It’s mid-September check-in time: Raise your hand if you’re feeling tired! You might be raising your hand … with your fingers crossed behind your back if, like me, you are feeling the wear-&-tear, but still doing the do. And why not? Parenting is, as they say, relentless—as is life. That’s why the meme above from SensaCalm really spoke to me: The first week of September found me under my own weighted blanket almost every chance I could get, ‘resting’ even as I lesson-prepped, counted birthday party RSVPs, input the grocery order … you name it! It’s like a power nap for my body without the loss of productivity time.
And while I’m looking for more downtime, my active first grader is full of energy to discharge. So, to keep his mental focus maintained (even while his body literally runs!), we’ve both been loving these great video lessons from Kids Freeze Dance. It’s affordable, interactive—& can even be custom! This free sample video, available both on YouTube & at the KFD website, is even in the social-emotional wheel house.
Sometimes I show up in my own inbox! Like this: An interview with GoSolo where I was the subject. I’m sharing it with you now, because their great questions let me share other resources … AND demonstrate how much I’m in the same seeking place you are, as a parent. (BONUS: Scour their many other articles for great finds—like this interview with Dr. Valeria Brown, who provides ongoing, in-the-field training for teachers & educators.)
