Centering Thought: Trust is an important aspect in my life. When I feel safe, care for myself and treat myself and others with respect, I do my part in breeding an atmosphere of trust for myself and for those around me.

Trust can be a complicated feeling. The sentiment, itself, involves some sort of balance between vulnerability and boundary-setting in its most ideal form. Ultimately, trust is a subjective state.

What are the elements of trust? We can identify some basic needs to feel trusting and/or trusted—needed qualities that likely include safety, reciprocity and respect. We are often inclined to share a level of trust with those who treat us with dignity and who model self-respect.
