CASEL’S state of the industry outcomes (& what they mean for business)

EQ Benchmark
Remember this book?? State of the Heart is the emotional intelligence, or EQ, data mine that takes the pulse (pun intended) of emotional intelligence across the globe——especially in the workplace. “HOW DID THE PANDEMIC IMPACT PEOPLE’S EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE?” is just one of the headlines found at the State of the Heart site. You’ll also read details on generational differences in EQ, plus how that plays out in terms of leadership.
EI Toolkit
If you’re looking for tools after you read some of this sometimes disconcerting data, try this online course by EQ guru Daniel Goleman, himself, on the 12 emotional intelligence competencies (EI). The next cohort opens April 12, just in time for Q2 progress.
SEL Studies
You may or may not be familiar with CASEL, the brain child of Daniel Goleman & others that’s bringing SEL——Social-Emotional Learning——into schools across the U.S. through a standardized curriculum. Even if you aren’t a fan of this concept, you probably support the outcomes of such teachings:
Grit/resilience
Empathy/compassion
Authentic listening skills
Self-management
What workplace leader doesn’t want a full team of people with these soft skills? Tools like the CASEL Measuring SEL assessment give educators the opportunity to train the workers of tomorrow in skills we all want today.
Looking for quick tools you or your team members (or family members!) can do right in the moment to assess & shift your state for better resilience? Check out this post on The BMT Index™ from our Tuesday Tools feature.
