This day has it all!
Killer headlines. Lost connections. Fraught new beginnings. Excitement. Potential. Historical celebrations & commemorations. Normalcy.
Yes, it’s a day for the datebooks … even as we go about our day-to-day lives & a cold Canadian wind whisks across the U.S. keeping some of us inside (& drawing some of us out).
What are you FEELING?
That question right there may feel like too big of an ask at the moment. But ask it, anyway. Ask yourself:
“Just what am I feeling?”
If you are practicing mindfulness in your life, but aren’t ready to pay subscription fees for this newsletter, consider helping us both out & visiting one of my affiliate sites to find tools to help you learn about & regulate your own emotions; share tools that you know work with the ones you support; gift items to your kiddos or their families. Check out journals (& much more!) at Big Life Journal. Create your own Calm Down Corner (& so much more!) at Generation Mindful. Get custom weighted blankets & plushies through SensaCalm.
You can find plenty of other links to my BMT Index™ self-awareness framework. And maybe that will be helpful. (It’s in this post & this one & many others … plus it’s got its own page in My Moody Daybook, which is also pictured below for your easiest reference of all.)
There may be a million other voices coming at you today with thoughts & opinions & insights & observations——&, yes, maybe even with tools & resources you can choose to use in this moment (or not!). Whatever you (or I or they) are thinking right now, the bottom line is this:
THE MOST IMPORTANT VOICE IN ANY GIVEN MOMENT ON ANY GIVEN DAY IN YOUR LIFE IS YOUR OWN.
And, yes, we can choose to stop speaking & to listen. The old adage that I have two ears & one mouth for a reason is also an important part of any conversation.
I learn a lot when I choose to listen within.
You may not be a meditator, but if you are (or if you’d like to see what all the fuss is about), I’m sharing with you a little list of links to help cut through all the clamor & let you find a little bit of stillness.
