BOUNDARY LINES: We Build Better Humans #15
Features: 1. Blueprints to naming, not blaming 2. Tools of the Trade: Gratitude for spiritual resilience 3. Cloud meditation
Hi, I’m Kealah (pronounced KEY-la), & I’m a “Mood Noob.”
Okay, maybe you’ve already seen my introductory video sharing my own background, & my idea that “We are all ‘mood noobs,’” or newbies/new learners to emotional processing. Even if you are an educator & proclaimed SEL professional, chances are good that you have *not* spent your whole life living with permission to feel.
In some ways, we are all just learning as we go. Where are you learning the most … & how?
What’s in a name, anyway? This IG post by Breathwork Guide Ryanna Battiste shares a simple-but-powerful tool called “Naming.” Naming our feelings. Naming our wishes. Naming our thoughts … without blaming. Powerful!
We can also name what we are grateful for — using gratitude lists, journal prompts & a whole host of other tools. Check out this panel discussion with Living Healthy List experts (you’ll recognize at least one 👀) on Spiritual Resilience, particularly through the act of gratitude.
This past week, two of my favorite experiences were participating in the above panel, & naming cloud shapes with my kiddos during a long commute. The fall sky is rife with cloud formations of every shape & size. It makes for a magical meditation experience if you are open to it. DailyOM sent me my weekly newsletter with some “deep thoughts,” if you will — & this simple message:
Following a cloud with our eye and drifting through the sky with it can be an easy and relaxing meditation.
If you are looking for more solid boundaries in your own life, you may be interested in some guided meditations specifically for the We Build Better Humans audience: Try this one on finding your boundaries or this one on letting go of others’ feelings. Namaste!
